Happy Monday! Well, I finally did it. I got some handy dandy bookshelves for my study this weekend. After years of sketches, ideas, questions and discussions, I just sucked it up and went with the ever versatile Ikea Billy bookshelves. In the past, I was hesitant because I felt I wanted something more substantial and custom. I am excited that I now have something and have found myself inspired by the endless options to trick these babies out.
They are patiently waiting to be put together. First I need to make some fun decisions. Ok, here goes --I need to choose molding, do I paint or wallpaper the backs, what kind of scones and where to place them, do I go back and get the glass doors and corner units. Yikes! The combinations are too many to count. My head is swimming!
The room is painted cream and white horizontal stripes with mainly white furniture. I am currently painting my trusty, old desk a super glossy navy with new gold hardware. I am really loving the combination of black, white and navy in my own home right now. In saying that, I am leaning toward applying blue grasscloth to the backs for some yummy depth and texture. Well, I am off for some hardcore decision making. Stay tuned for a "before" and "after" post!
