Designer Spotlight // Eric Cohler Design

"Be original and your home will speak for itself."  ~ Brett Schwebke

A few weeks ago while researching another post, I happened upon the website for Eric Cohler's impressive work.  His portfolio is vast, versatile and completely chic.  His New York design firm has projects all over the world.  Each project is completely unique because of his talent for layering with many interesting textures and natural elements.

This New York City living room is absolutely stunning!  The use of simple neutral draperies showcases the view allowing it to be the star of the room.  My eye was immediately drawn to those peacock blue velvet chairs because the rest of the room is done in clean, neutral furnishings with just a few restrained pops of color.  Gorgeous!

Another favorite is this all white Madison Avenue space.  Because the room is largely one color, each piece is strong with texture to create interest. I like that it is a casually glamorous room because of the bookshelves.  The books keep the room from taking itself too seriously.

I guess I am really drawn to the NYC penthouses right now because here is yet another.  This modern dining area is open and airy.  The varying textures in the different types of wood used make it warm and inviting.  I adore the feminine curves of these mid-century modern chairs.  Can you imagine eating your bowl of cereal if front of this view every morning?

Have the best week ever!
