Out & About // New Orleans + Source. Interiors

"Decorating is the art of arranging beautiful things comfortably."  ~ Billy Baldwin

I hope you had a wonderful holiday weekend.  We took a fabulous trip to New Orleans for a bit of history and relaxation.  I didn't even bring my computer!  It felt so liberating.  I was just there to enjoy the moments and take in those sweet, sweet beignets.

We managed to squeeze quite a lot of walking and fun into our short stay.  I have been to New Orleans a couple times in the past.  I've been as a single girl and as a wife/mom.  The trips could not be any more different.  It's amazing all the time you have to shop antique stores and drink in the beautiful architecture when Bourbon Street is not on the itinerary!

The well-known Magazine Street has been on my "must see" list for quite some time.  There you will find elegant homes, unique eateries and the most interesting of shopping spots .  One shop ,in particular, made quite an impression on me.  Source. Interiors is a light filled, chic store brimming with ultra-stylish hand chosen pieces.  This is exactly the type of store I hope to own one day. It was chock-full of antiques and new pieces that are cleverly displayed in the yummiest of vignettes.  They will definitely be added to my client resource list.

Some people like to pick up a t-shirt as a souvenir when travelling.  I like to purchase unique home accessories that tell a story.  I purchased a pair of these beautiful vine sconces that had me as soon as I walked in the door.  I have not seen anything like them before and they are tall enough to happily flank our fireplace mantle.  They have a sophisticated Dr. Seuss quality about them; don't you think?

Have the best week ever!
