The Perfect Persian

"I love the way textiles so often tell a story, conveying a history of the maker or capturing a moment in time that can be treasured forever in the intricate craftsmanship of these timeless, precious pieces."  ~ Kit Kemp

Well, I finally did it!  I ordered a beyond gorgeous rug for our living room yesterday and I am so in LOVE with it.  I could not be more over the design moon right now!  If this rug looks as great as it does online, (famous last words!) then I will be doing cartwheels for days--most probably on the rug itself.

I have known for quite some time I wanted an old Persian rug for our living room.  I have to say I have never  been drawn to red -- interiors or otherwise.  However, once I was introduced to esale rugs, I quickly changed my tune.  The idea of a bright (albeit worn) red and navy rug in our predominately neutral room would be just the zip and patina the room needs.  I had originally thought I wanted to layer a Persian and jute. That dream quickly died when the messy jute arrived and it became apparent that this was not the rug for us.  It was constantly shedding which is just plain nasty on a hardwood floor!

So, I was innocently "window shopping" on the site last night and stumbled across an old beauty that was a) just the right size b) a price so low it would have been a crime NOT to have gotten it and c) all the right colors.  I jumped on that thing like a bride-to-be at a Filene's Basement sale!  I will post a proper photo once the looker arrives. :-)

Have the best day ever!
