Dreaming of Corfu, Greece

"In many ways we are all sons and daughters of ancient Greece."  ~ Nia Vardalos

I have been dreaming lately of lounging on the beaches and soaking up the ancient architecture of Corfu, Greece. I feel inspired by the history, beauty and sun drenched colors of this breathtaking island.

It is said that the island of Corfu gets it's name from Nymph Korkira who was the daughter of the Aesopos, the river god.  Mythology states that Poseidon, god of the sea, fell in love, kidnapped and brought Nymph Korkira to this island. Super romantic, right?!  While in college, I was fascinated by Greek mythology and bawdy Greek theater.  Also, I have never met an olive or feta I didn't like.  For this reason alone, I think I should be able to visit.

It looks like the perfect romantic getaway for two.  Ahhh......swimming, sunning and sightseeing for days.  This is a place I could get used to.  Now, to what holiday wish list can I apply this vacation?  Hmmm......birthday, Christmas and anniversary have long since passed.

Dear Andrew,

I know how hard you work.  I think you deserve a break.  I have already done all the work.  I have spent many long, grueling hours at the computer researching hotels and such.  I am happy to do it because you are worth it, my darling.  All you need to do is show up to the stunning Delfino Blu located on the magical island of Corfu, Greece with a pair of swim trunks and a smile...and maybe one outfit....possibly a towel....ok, and maybe some sunscreen.  This is all for you, sweetie.  I am only coming along for company. {commence eyelash batting}  xoxo

Love,
Lisa

P.S.  The private jet will swing by the office to pick you up around 5:00. :-)

Have the best day ever!
