A Shady Nest

"A society grows great when old men plant trees in whose shade they know they shall never sit."  ~ Greek proverb

By now, we have all gotten a nice big dose of summer's heat and blistering sun.  I am not complaining, just pointing out the obvious.  When we first moved to Houston and met new people, the first thing they would say is, "How about this heat?  Isn't it awful?" To be honest, I don't really mind it. But by August, I am ready to find a shady outdoor spot to keep the sun damage and sun bleached highlights to a minimum. You know, a nice quiet respite to curl up with a good book and iced tea.  Ahhh.....

Yes, this will do.  Ha ha.....of course it will in my dreams!  Isn't this the most gorgeous space?  It reminds me of the cover on my Slim Aarons book, "Once Upon A Time".  This is one elegant patio from it's regal pillars to the stunning fountain.  I do love the magnificence of this patio, but was thinking more of a shady little nest where I could get lost for a while...

Like this.......

Have the best day ever!
