Monday Attire || Workin' It!

" I like work: it fascinates me.  I can sit and look at it for hours."  ~ Jerome K. Jerome

Ok ok, I know the official beginning of fall is months away.  When you live in an area where the average temp is 98° with 100% humidity, you start dreaming of sweaters pretty damn early.  I am in no hurry to send the ducklings off to school, but I am enjoying the fall work pieces that have been coming out recently.  They are helping to put the "get up" in my go, if you know what I mean.  Of course, J. Crew is oozing with inspiration for fall style.

Even though they are impractical in Houston, I am in LOVE with the elbow length gloves. Looks #3 and #4 are my favorites. These are chic simplicity at it's best.  The classic pieces can be worn for years and mixed up with other items such as skinny jeans, skirts or sweaters.

Here are some other styles that have caught my eye.  The conservative garb of the boardroom has been left behind.  Women are now wearing professional ensembles with personality and a touch of the unexpected like the (ahem!) black bra peeking through the sheer swiss dot blouse ala Kelly Wearstler. She has such a fearless sense of style, which I love.  It's people like her that push me out of my fashion comfort zone.

Working from home definitely has it's advantages. You can pour over paint samples while sitting cross-legged in your sweats and socks.  No one will ever know.  Meeting with clients, however, is a different story.  While I do not miss the stuffy office uniforms of my past, I love wearing professionally chic outfits while out.

Have the best week ever!
