Happy Weekend!

"Happiness is a journey... not a destination." ~ Ben Sweetland

Hopefully, it is feeling a bit more like fall wherever you live.  We have been promised a cold front that is due on Sunday and everyone in Houston is thrilled.  By cold front, I mean high of 80 but I will take it! This is what is on tap for our much needed weekend.

We will be doing a little sofa shopping on Saturday.  I might change my mind once the credit card comes out but as of this moment, it is between these two beauties.  I have been wanting a lighter sofa that is tuxedo style for.like.ever.  I would like a tad more tufting but other than that, she is perfect.

On the other hand, a blue velvet sofa would be so luxurious and different.  The legs also come in a tapered wood which is what we would choose.  I think the metal legs look odd to me - a bit like a gigantic house balancing on teeny, tiny stilts.
One Sunday, we are taking the girls to the pumpkin patch.  It sounds goofy but we are so excited.  I have no desire to move back to Cincinnati, however, I desperately miss the seasons.  Going to choose a special pumpkin is part of the fall tradition.

Once returning from an afternoon of apple cider and hayrides, I might feel inspired to tackle a new wreath project for the front door.  I haven't attempted a wreath since moving.  Mom is a genius at anything involving artificial flowers.  She can put together a masterpiece in ten minutes. Not having her here for these crucial wreath making decisions has taken the wind out of my sails.  However, I found this lovely guy on Pinterest and felt inspired.  I love the lush, rich tones and organic elements.

Have a smashing weekend!
