Bottle of Sunshine

"Gratitude is riches, complaint is poverty."  ~ Doris Day

I am mad about Doris Day.  I love everything about her movies especially when paired with Rock Hudson.  They are upbeat, quirky and full of sunshine.  A Doris Day movie is always a great idea if you are looking for that happy feeling that only a romantic comedy in Technicolor can bring.

Over the weekend, I watched "Pillow Talk" again.  This might just be my favorite.  Rock Hudson is the foxiest actor that ever lived and Day is her usual perky, adorable self.  I have seen this movie so many times, I usually find myself looking past the characters to the chic decor.  This time, however, I was completely glued to her fabulous wardrobe.

This emerald green chiffon is so beautiful.  Why don't the majority of people "dress" to have dinner anymore?  Why is there no longer dancing with dinner?  Why are people wearing now wearing Spongebob Squarepants pajama bottoms to a restaurant?  Oh, so many important questions - so little time.

She is perfection in a mink hat.

The perfectly fitted winter white gown was a dream.  I am thinking they might have sewn her into this beauty because it fit her like a second skin.  This dress would still be a knock-out today.  The front is clean and simple and the back is low and sexy.

I put together a slightly more modern look inspired by the perfection that is Doris Day.

Catch the Look

Have the best day ever!
