Creative Burn Out

"Changing your perspective changes your experience."  ~ Unknown

I am burnt out, you guys.  My brain is on creative overload and I cannot put two accessories together at this point. Last week was generally crappy which left me with a bad attitude.  I felt as if my head would explode leaving nothing but fabric and paint samples everywhere.

I need to stop, take a breath and not think about design for just one day and come back with a fresh perspective.  Is that even possible?  No, it is not because I have an addiction. I don't think I can go an hour without thoughts of mirrors, art or furniture creeping in.  It is a sickness and I need help.  They say admitting it is the first step.

In my attempt to temporarily "detox" from design, I have decided to focus my thoughts on taking photographs for our Christmas cards.  The weather is supposed to crazy good and we should take advantage. I would like to do something a little different though.  We usually take the mainstream|suburban|Wonder Bread|gee, aren't my kids adorable? kind of pics and send them off to Sam's Club.  After seeing this unbelievably adorable Christmas photo of Sarah Sherman Samuel and her husband last year, I have been inspired to think outside the box.  The idea is cute, quirky and unique - exactly what I am looking for.

Have the best day ever!

  1. Hopefully you'll have a better week and can't wait to see your cards! I try to get Christmas cards out every other year...sometimes it's two! This is our year so we'll see if I can get around to it! :) Good Luck!
