Completely Obsessed || Chippendale Chairs

"Simplicity is the ultimate form of sophistication."  ~ Leonardo da Vinci

I believe it was Windsor Smith's white on white kitchen featured in a 2007 issue of Domino that sparked my mad crush for faux bamboo Chippendale chairs.  I love the simple lines and geometric back. Originally, I had thought that I would find just one vintage lovely for our family computer area.

My wheels are now turning toward kitchen chairs.  I had told you the story of our memory-filled farm table and how I would like to send it upstate somewhere where it could get plenty of fresh air and sunshine.  It doesn't look like it is going anywhere soon so I thought I could freshen it up with a glossy paint job and some new (old) chairs.

Then came this magnificence, also from the amazingly talented Windsor. I love how the chairs add texture and personality but are light enough that they can be mixed with any other chair style.

No words for this perfection.  This is exactly the look I am feeling at the moment - neutrals with bold, unexpected pops.

I know there are many companies selling new versions, I would much rather buy vintage and fix them up myself.  I have found that the things that mean the most to me are the pieces from the past that have lived another life.  Just like people, those are the ones with the most character.

Have the best day ever!
