You Should Know || Elizabeth Satel Young

"Good design comes from the heart, not from the brain."  ~ Danny Sengers

Get ready to swoon!

One thing I love more than admiring another designer's portfolio is getting a peek inside their home. An interior designer's work is a collaborative effort which also takes into consideration the lifestyle and desires of the client.  However, a designer's haven is where you really get to see their taste and style - the things they find most appealing.

I was completely floored when I came upon the incredible home belonging to Houston interior designer, Elizabeth Satel Young her husband, Barry which is featured in the the current issue of Paper City.

The open, airy rooms filled with carefully chosen pieces of beauty is right up my alley.  The home is a clever mix of old and new, modern and vintage.  The furniture is amazing but what really got me was the eclectic array of art.  This spread immediately found a place onto my inspiration board.

I am crazy about this cosmic wall installation in the entry.  It is a real focal point.

Pale gray walls, sisal rug and upholstered headboard - all the elements for a tranquil bedroom.

The beautiful designer in her living room.  This piece of art by Howard Sherman is my absolute favorite.  I am crazy about the colors and movement.  Also, I know I saw that chair once while antique shopping for a client.  Just gorgeous!

 A simple, lovely vignette.

Another angle of that outstanding artwork.  I love the pairing of the 19th century Indian desk with the mid-century velvet chair.  The delicate crystal lamp adds yet another layer of interest.

This room is subtle in tones but heavy in style thanks to the delicious Milo Baughman chairs.  I have developed a major crush on his work and dream of owning a piece of his gorgeous furniture one day.

Now, did I steer you wrong?  Isn't this house drop your jaw unbelievable?!  Now that you are completely inspired with beauty, go create something amazing. ;-)

Have the best day ever!
