Never Say Never...

"The details are not the details.  They make the design." ~ Charles Eames

It's funny how taste changes over time.  Sometimes it's so subtle, you are not even aware.  If I look back even five years, I cannot believe some of the nonsense I wore or brought into my home. [side note:  Dear family, thank you for patiently tolerating my experiments of creativity.  Love, Lisa]

I have been crushing over wood pieces lately.  Just one element from nature seems to take a room to another level full of cool personality .  Years ago, I wouldn't have even considered it because I found the look too rustic.  I now feel it keeps a room from looking too precious - almost like wearing your fanciest blouse with torn jeans.

If you are not ready to commit to a large piece, perhaps you could begin with a wood bowl or tray. Stores like Home Goods have large inventory right now that cost almost nothing.  A distressed wood vase filled with white roses sounds like a great idea.  It will give your space depth and interest.

Stunning is what this table happens to be.  Paired with leather upholstered square-back Louis chairs would be perfection.

I have seen this console in person.  It is Saturday afternoon project "had some scrap wood left over" rustic.  However, I cannot get it out of my mind.

Channing was a serious possibility for one of my clients.  I love the driftwood quality.

Have the best day ever!
