Vintage Freak

"Stick to the things you really love.  An honest room is always up to date." ~ Billy Baldwin

I have always had a special place in my heart for antique hunting.  While living in Cincinnati, my mom and I would go to the flea market one Sunday each month to hunt for that special something. It's funny how over the years I have honed my eye and become very particular about what I buy. Back then, I was like, "Oh, I need a lamp for the new house.  This one is $7.  It's just okay, but it's only $7! I'll take it."  Six months later, it was in the Goodwill pile.  {sad face...}

 My newest score was this glossy lady.  I love her shapely lines.

I feel vintage brings character and flavor to a room that new items can't.  They help to make the space uniquely yours.  A good day for me is scouring the antique joints in and around Houston for treasures. Lately, I have been saving the gas and scoring some great finds on Etsy.  Here a some of my favorite temptations.

I am so excited about the brass elephant!  One of my favorite stores has a similar one for several hundred dollars.  I bought him for a teeny tiny fraction of that.

My daughter's faux bamboo dresser.  Just a little sanding and two coats of high gloss white and it is perfect.

I had been looking for feminine teacups for.like.ever.

Have the best day ever!
