Happy Weekend!

Most folks are as happy as they make up their mind to be.
Abraham Lincoln

Happiness » Do you live for laughter and goosebumps?  I know I do.  If  I am moved, inspired or tickled - then that is a good day.  This article gives you 101 common sense ways to uplift your joy.

Fashion » I know some of you are in the tight grasp of winter's fist right now.  We just had a short, beautiful burst of good weather in Houston that reminded me spring isn't far away.  I love that feeling when the clothing options change from black|gray to bright, happy hues.  I have my eye on this, this and that for the coming season.

Health » Speaking of spring, the panic of wearing shorts again always pushes me to work out harder and eat better.  These detox waters are the best for clearing away toxins and jump starting your routine to a healthier you.  I have been making the cucumber, mint and lemon water and it is
delicious!

Movies » If you are looking for a powerful film to see this weekend, go see Selma.  It is the best movie I have seen in a long time.  While it is based on a single event involving Martin Luther King Jr., {I understand there is a movie about his entire life being made} it shows just a glimpse of the struggle African Americans went through to obtain the goal to vote.  It is an important part of history we should all know.  John Legend and Common sing the title track which is incredibly moving.

Yum! »  I was scrolling through the channels on Sirius the other day and Martha Stewart was describing an amazing birthday cake she had last year.  The recipe looks fairly easy and it sounds so delicious!

Love » I found this article through Joanna's wonderful blog and decided to give it a try with my husband even though we are far from strangers. Andrew and I poured a cocktail and began answering these 36 questions.  We have been married for 16 years which, at times, can be like strangers passing one another.  He isn't a big talker, so having this guide as an emotional conversation starter was amazing.  I learned so much about him and instantly felt closer which is exactly the point of being married, isn't it?  You should give it a try.

Have a beautiful weekend,
Lisa
