Happy Weekend!

The best way to cheer yourself up is to try to cheer somebody else up.
Mark Twain

Leisure »»» We are a breakfast in bed kind of family - any kind of special day starts with early morning pampering.  I have been looking for a great breakfast tray since the legs on our thrift store find broke down.  I am loving this and this one.
Fashion »»» I am having a little tiff with Gap lately.  They have always been my go-to for the basics. Recently, everything I purchase was either poor quality or fit.  They must have sensed I was giving them the cold shoulder.  They sent me a 40% coupon which I could resist.  I ordered these pants and let me tell you, they are so fly!  They look adorable with t-straps, pumps or Converse.  I will be living in these things for the next three months.

Books »»» I have been reading The Art of Civilized Conversation by Margaret Shepherd.  If you know me, then you have an idea that talking is my thing.  I love nothing more than having a really interesting conversation over lunch.  But I felt I could learn to be better at listening and small talk.  I also just bought The Art of a Handwritten Note because the fine detail of a handwritten thought is quickly diminishing, and it's sad.

Food »»»  Camille obviously has no idea I am trying to get into summer shape with the {hopefully} warmer temps approaching.  Nor does she know I have a weakness for pasta {who doesn't?}.  These recipes look super easy and super delicious.  My tummy will thank you -  my thighs will not.

Entertaining »»» What's not to love about Emily McCarthy?  Her lovely site is chock full of the most creative monogramming and gift ideas.  This set would be perfect for having friends over on a balmy summer night.

Have a wonderful weekend,

Lisa

  1. I hope you had a wonderful weekend and spring break! I agree with you on the Gap...it has been disappointing lately but my closet doesn't seem to be lacking because of it ;)
