A Mentor

When a woman becomes her own best friend, life is easier.
Diane von Furstenberg

Balancing the demands of being an awesome mom, adorable wife, witty friend, scholarly student all while trying to grow a business has proven itself to be quite the challenge. Walking the tightrope of being a professional while putting your children's needs (always) first has shown me firsthand the true reality of trying to do it all.  There are days when my multi-tasking skills become a sport.

Most of the time, it's cool because I have been lucky to have only the best of clients.  But then there are  days when I really need a mentor - a strong woman who has been around the block of success. I would absolutely love to know a fellow interior designer who has seen and done it all, a person to bounce off ideas or simply listen during frustrating times.  So there - I am putting it out into the universe.  I need a mentor!

Since I don't have any prospects, I am turning to one business extraordinaire I greatly admire.  I recently purchased the audio (hence the multi-tasking) version of Diane von Furstenberg's book, The Woman I Wanted to Be.  I value her honesty, intelligence and desire to share her knowledge openly with other woman trying to do the same.

My favorite photo from her Studio 54 days.  Oh, I would have loved to have gone just once!

Have a powerful day!

  1. I love your thougths, I feel the same. It's so great to have role models and mentors, and just to be able to talk with other strong women and men about the challenges in life and business!
I love your portfolio by the way, I'm posting some of your images on my blog this week. Have a wonderful day!
